Bayanat is an open source data management solution for processing huge amounts of data relevant to human rights abuses and war crimes, developed and maintained by Syrian talents at the Syria Justice and Accountability Centre (SJAC). It was designed to preserve, catalogue, and facilitate the analysis of documentation of human rights, humanitarian, and international criminal violations. The database archives videos, pictures, documents, and other files on human rights violations — along with Syria-specific metadata such as the source, location, time, types and methods of violations, and the actors involved.
